The Proper Experience
A Unique Experience
Like a fine cocktail, in order to create the Watch Hill Proper experience, you would start with several ounces of exclusive speakeasy, add a dash of traditional social club, splash in a few drops of cocktail lounge, and garnish it with Kentucky. Once you have arrived inside, having found your favorite leather chair or dining room table and using the bourbon knowledge available from your server or bartender, you select the perfect drink for the evening. You have come to enjoy it among the company of friends and found it to be the perfect atmosphere to savor the moment. Hearing the muffled hum of conversations and seeing the beauty of walls lined with bourbon, you sink a little lower to take it all in and realize the experience of Watch Hill Proper.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations are available to members as part of membership perks and are highly recommended. Reservations are also available to the public in the form of a $50/person food credit. Most of our seating is arranged for parties of six or less. Members can make reservations for up to eight on the website or our mobile app but can also make reservations for larger parties simply by calling the club in advance. You are always welcome to show up unannounced and be placed on the waiting list. Members will always be seated before non-members.
THE FERMENTER
The Fermenter is our waiting room. Not only do we have a waiting room but we have a bar in the waiting room. That’s right. We have a bar in the waiting room and it’s very well appropriated. The Fermenter bar services all guests on the waiting list as well as the outdoor seating areas. This is also where we host the bartender spotlight on occasion. Grab a drink while you wait or grab one to go and enjoy the Norton Commons outdoor spaces.
SERVICE
Watch Hill Proper is a restaurant experience with a full menu of elevated food. Parties are seated and waited on by our servers at their seats. We maintain a low server to guest ratio to maintain a high level of personal service and to make sure you have everything you need.
